Indie Band !!!!! Bittersweet ... :p

I never thought that malaysia band can be this good...check out our local indie band , they call themself as Bittersweet !!!!!!

Bittersweet began in mid-2004 with 2 members who had the same musical interests. Both played in an Ipoh band before, and got to know each other well during that time. Herri and Zabil occasionally met to hangout and eventually decided to try their hand at writing music together. Both heavily influenced by British music, the two decided to put their heads together and record an EP, just for fun. After the recording was completed Herri and Zabil distributed the material for feedback, which was mainly positive. When Zabil joined the Malaysian teaching force he had to quit the band, which left Bittersweet with only one of its founding members. Determined not to abandon what they started, Herri set about forming a complete line-up, particularly considering they'd been invited by Pet Projects to perform at Couple's EP launch.

He enlisted Dinie as their bassist first of all, before adding Hafiez (guitarist) to the line-up, Pijie as Bittersweet's vocalist with Emai ..boards. Bittersweet finished recording their 2nd EP (Night and Morning Tales) on November 2004. They?ve been invited for shows at PISA Penang on January 2005. The feedback of the 2nd EP and the shows at Penang which were more massive than before. Bittersweet have been invited for plenty of shows after that in KL and Penang. Starting 2006, Bittersweet been received a rave reviews from the crowd and people mostly in Klang Valley itself. Bittersweet finished recorded their 1st single (A Perfect Match) on June 2006. The singles feedback was heavily impressive and the track A Perfect Match has been played in many radio stations such as Fly fm, Hot fm, Hitz.fm and Mix fm. They also had been invited to play for a show at Baybeats festival 2006. By the end of 2006, Bittersweet has launched their 1st debut album, Perfect Match, on 16th December 2006 during Rock The World 7. Two months later, after the album has released, they started for a tour around the country. The tour began at 10th April which the first place that they gonna rock was KLPAC, Kuala Lumpur. Then,they went to JB(11th March), Malacca(17th March), Penang(8th April), Ipoh(14th April) and the last place was Sarawak on 28th April. The tour was good and successful.

After the Malaysian tour, Bittersweet in planning to broaden their music to the audiences around the South East Asia region. Finally Bittersweet comprises of 5 members that are Pijie(Lead Vocals), Herri(Lead Guitar / Vocals), Hafie (2nd Guitar / Vocals), Dinie(Bass), Emai(Keys / Synth) and a sessionist drummer. Music!!! About Indie Music...

Indie music scenes are localized, independent, music-oriented communities that exist in many countries, especially in the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. These have existed for decades now, in one way or another, but it is now commonplace for a city or town to have a punk scene, a metal scene, or many other scenes based on other forms of art. Indie music scenes became important in the early 1980s, when the rest of the country caught up with punk rock music from New York and London. Scenes are important in keeping indie and punk rock fresh and inventive, because it allows people from a wide audience to hear new independent music and contribute their own talents to it. Obviously, depending on what town one is in, the feel of the scene (and therefore the music that comes out of it) may change significantly.


Arguably, the 1980s indie scene in Washington D.C. was pivotal in changing the outcome of punk and indie rock for decades to come. Bands like Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Fugazi, and Rites of Spring helped to shape the sound of underground music for years. Los Angeles was important around this time as well, producing bands like the Descendents, Bad Religion, X, The Circle Jerks, The Germs, and Black Flag.



Around the mid-1980s, as punk and New-Wave's mainstream influence died down considerably, there rose a couple of other important movements. Minneapolis was very important around this time. Bands like Hüsker Dü, and The Replacements would influence many alternative bands after them by broadening the scope of punk and hardcore. People involved in these bands, such as Bob Mould and Paul Westerberg still contribute to the music scene today. During the late 1980s in the Bay Area of California, bands like Operation Ivy, Green Day, The Offspring, and later, Rancid would take form to give a new sound to punk rock. On the opposite end of the country, Frank Black, Kim Deal, and Kristin Hersh were forming bands like the Pixies, Throwing Muses, and eventually The Breeders. These bands would influence the next wave of alternative rock, which due to the massive mainstream success of grunge became divided into mainstream artists and a new wave of indie rock bands who rejected the mainstream in favor of the indie scene.

Assalammualaikum!! Issue ke2 aku nie…aku nak korang check out fenomena baru dalam industri music kite…sesetengah dari kite panggil underground dan ade gak panggil Indie Music…tapi bagi aku,sume tu sama aje…aku rase ramai yg dah kenal ape itu indie music kan ??…so,tak payah la aku nak terangkan lagi…korang mesti biase dengar lagu mcm Lagu Untuk Mu(MUH), Aku Scandal(Hujan) dan 1000tahun(Butterfingers) kat radio …lagu2 nie adelah antara lagu2 indie yg sangat famous…bagi aku..kehadiran indie band didalam industri music kite adalah sangat tepat pada waktu dan tempatnya…sbb kite dah banyak dihujani dengan lagu2 OI (org indon)…bukan aku nak prejudis pada band2 dari seberang nie…cume aku nak org Malaysia sendiri sedar bahawa industri music kite dah tenggelam dan kite mestilah cube memulihkannya kembali…dan dgn kehadiran music indie nie la aku harap boleh menaikkan minat org kite…terutama remaja generasi baru…Band2 mcm Laila Lounge,Meet Uncle Hussain,Hujan dan The Times tak asing lagi bagi peminat2 music indie dkt Malaysia…Aku respect indie band nie sbb diorg sendiri buat lagu, sendiri nyanyi dan sendiri keluar modal…tak kire untung atau rugi…yg penting jiwa diorg puas…kat sini aku ade letak skit gambar2 band indie yg agak terkenal kat negara kite.
















Sekarang nie aku tengok banyak gigs2 yg diadakan….bagus la tu… sbb gigs2 nie la jd platform utk budak2 indie menunjukkan bakat diorg.. klau boleh dapat support dari pihak kerajaan untuk wat gigs besar2 pun bagus gak…tahun 90an dulu…gigs mcm nie pun ade… kumpulan mcm Butterfingers,Prana dan ACAB selalu maen…cume tibe2 je slow…maybe sbb banyak rush dan konflik kot…aku pun tak paham la…Sejak keluar cerita Kami nie..dah jadi mcm satu inspirasi untuk gigs2 nie bertempat semula…lagi pun Kami nie banyak wat gigs… aku tengok banyak flyers2 pasal gigs diorg…cube check out flyers kat bawah.









Ok la...setakat ini la dulu keluh kesah bersama kak esah aku... aku akan cube dapatkan info pasal gigs dan review pasal band2 indie nie...sbb aku dengar banyak lagi band2 baru yg sedang naik nie...klau boleh... aku nak dapatkan sikit lagu diorg untuk korang layan...maklum la...mesti mintak kebenaran beb...baru la nampak rakyat Malaysia.peace.....

Assalammualaimkum....Untuk isu permulaan nie aku nak bawak korang untuk memahami dan mendekati permikiran budak2 generasi sekarang nie....pasal budak2 sekarang bukan mcm era 80an dan 90an,banyak mende2 baru yg leh wat kite salah sangka dan wat kite x paham....antara yg tengah hot skang nie adalah shuffle....kire nie salah satu jenis tarian generasi baru ar...tarian nie banyak mengunakan pergerakan kaki....style mcm jump style,hard style dan hard jump nie normal ar bagi budak2 shuffle nie....kalau lagu plak...diorg layan jenis house music ar....mcm trance dan hard trance...DJ mcm Bassagent, Donkie roller tu dah jadi kebiasaan la...ade gak yg kreatif leh wat dan mix lagu sendiri (gua tabik)....kumpulan diorg plak mcm name Hardstyle Republic, Pure Hard Dance dan JB Rocka....














Kalau dari segi dress up plak, tak banyak yang aku tau...sbb aku kene study lebih lagi pasal shuffle nie...tapi aku tak akan menghampakan korang.... kat sini aku tunjuk skit gambar2 budak shuffle yg mungkin leh membantu korang mengenali dan memahami budak2 shuffle nie

Kebanyakkan budak2 shuffle nie yang aku nampak adelah budak2 sekolah lagi....ade la umur antara 13-17 tahun...kire ok ar tu... dari diorg isap dadah...better menari lagik...sehat sikit badan diorg....anyway klau korang berminat nak tau lebih pasal shuffle and cara diorg dress up...korang leh la check out step dan music diorg kat gie serach mane2 website yg berkenaan...arios :p
